The Council of Dicasteries is presided over by the Claustral Prior of the Abbatial State who assumes the office of Prime Minister and is made up of Monks, Presbyters, Converse or Laymen who have been chosen directly by His Most Reverend Highness the Prince Abbot. The Councillors of the Dicasteries perform specific tasks to assist the Prince in the performance of his temporal functions. The duties and assignments are conferred for three years and are renewable and/or cumulative. The Prime Minister verifies the proper performance of the mandates conferred by making a six-monthly report to the Prince Abbot. The Council of Ministries consists of at least three councillors.
